On the 14th of November, BELGATECH went to the 2nd edition of the Jobday organized by the “Opaliens Alumni” of the Engineering School located in the North of France (EILCO). The objective of that day was to bring together companies and students / job seekers in Industrial Engineering and Computer Engineering. A day full of meetings, exchanges and future recruitments!
We thank the Opaliens Alumni for their welcome and enthusiasm.
Thanks also to François M., our Senior Consultant, who has been working for BELGATECH for more than 8 years now. As a former student of the EIL Côte D’Opale, he put us in contact with his Engineering School. Do not hesitate to follow his example by putting BELGATECH in touch with your University or Higher Education Institution!
Anaïs L. will contact them and organize these fairs with commitment and professionalism.
On 13th November, BELGATECH attended the Job Day in Woluwe-Saint-Lambert, close to our headquarters. A good opportunity to meet candidates interested in engineering and to inform them about our current vacancies. Thanks to all for your interest and motivation!
BELGATECH endeavours to adopt an environmentally responsible approach, especially in terms of waste management, mobility or energy consumption. Others decided to take action in our immediate surroundings to reduce their environmental footprint. Congratulations to our neighbour – Sint-Josef College – for the installation of a large amount of photovoltaic panels.
The Woluwe Gate (the building where BELGATECH is located) also possesses 90 photovoltaic panels installed on the roof which generate on average 19285 kWh per year. These photovoltaic panels allow a CO2 emission saving of 4050 kg / year for the whole building.
Saving the planet is a collective responsibility in which our engineers have an important role to play!
Last Thursday BELGATECH team members played Mini-Golf in beautiful scenery. They first had a drink between colleagues facing the ponds and then hit the ball in teams. Two of us clearly stood out: Henri D. and Nicolas G. Congratulations to them and also to all the other players whose motivation and good humor led us to play until dark!
See you in December for our famous end-of-year dinner and by then enjoy your work…
Your privacy is of great importance to us.
From 25 May 2018, the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) came into force within the EU. That is why BELGATECH launched an update of its processes for a few months.
As a result BELGATECH will be fully compliant with the recommendation on records of processing activities published by the Commission for the Protection of Privacy (“Privacy Commission”), Belgium’s data protection agency, last year.
More information soon in a separate news flash!
For our traditional quarterly event, the BELGATECH staff gathered at the Genval Yacht Club. A slightly capricious weather did not prevent us to enjoy the various activities on offer: while some played “petanque”, “palet Breton” or archery, others took the opportunity to take a pedalo tour on the lake. The evening continued with a delicious barbecue, interesting discussions and for some late petanque games!
See you after the summer for our next event!
On May 27th took place the famous running race “20 km of Brussels”. Some 40,000 people have embarked on the starting line, including our 5 BELGATECH athletes who did great performances:
Franck D.: 1h46
Pierre G.: 1h53
Frédéric M.: 1h59
Benoît F.: 2h43
Marine L.: 2h51
Congratulations to them for taking up the challenge and thank you to the colleagues who came to support them!
After a 10-year-period of growth, it is now time to write the next story of BELGATECH.
We are all strongly motivated in setting-up new perspectives and building a new adventure together.
As a very successful Belgian hub of entrepreneurs, HoHR (https://www.houseofhr.com/) will bring its experience and power to support our growth and give new opportunities to everyone.
HoHR will work with us as a back-office partner which means that nothing changes for our Staff and Customers on a daily basis. More technical & commercial partnerships with engineering specialists like Abylsen, more project opportunities including workpackage offers, more trainings, more competitive power (especially in Flanders) will be added to our already existing skills.
Combining our corporate DNA and the expertise of HoHR is a great possibility of creating more added value for both our Employees and Customers.
Your BELGATECH Team.
Our last event took place at the Tram Museum in Woluwe-Saint-Pierre. A choice motivated by the activity of BELGATECH in the railway sector but also by the proximity of the museum. Two volunteer and passionate guides commented on a selection of Belgian trams, ancestors from the end of the 19th century to the current models.
An interesting dive in the history of railway technology that ended with a drink in the offices of BELGATECH. A friendly moment to share the impressions of everyone on the visit but also to get to know the newcomers at BELGATECH and, for some, to be photographed for our future Wall!
Thank you all for your presence and see you in June for our next event!
Anita P., BELGATECH Consultant in Water Treatment and Environment, took part in the FOREM “Polygone de l’eau” expo conference. The event, organized by the SWDE (Société Wallonne Des Eaux), allowed our Consultant to learn about innovations and future developments in her area of expertise: the place of water in Smart Cities projects, the use of advanced technologies such as drones or 3D scanners to perform 3D models of structures, or the regulations concerning the safety of materials in contact with drinking water.
In addition to the lectures and technical presentations, a visit to the SWDE didactic network was organized. The opportunity to discover, among others, their premises for training of apprentices, companies, etc.
The expo conference brought together Belgium’s main players in the water business such as SWDE, SPGE, CILE, AIDE, Saint Gobain PAM, who unveiled their investment plans for the years to come.
A great opportunity for Anita to continue to train and keep abreast of the latest technical trends and developments in the water field at home in Belgium!
